Six Reliefs

SIX RELIEFS ON THE HISTORY OF HERFORD

by Matthias Polster

Since September 2000, six reliefs by Matthias Polster, an artisan and stucco artist, have been installed in the courtyard passage of the "Hotel zur Fürabtei". These are depictions of urban buildings and historical situations from the Middle Ages to modern times, which can no longer be found in today's Herford townscape. The 17th century view of the city according to Matthäus Merian is also reproduced in relief.
